Hey! Just wanted to plug the other personal site I made and intend to keep working on: tintoyrobots.com. Ive been a big fan mid-century tin toys from postwar Japan since I was a young lad, so last year I finished a long-standing personal project and reproduced some of the more popular robots of the era in Blender, an open source 3D app. Following that, I doubled down and built a related website because – well just because. I grabbed the domain name more than 20 years ago, so I figured it was time to do something with it.

My goal for the site was not merely to showcase my drawings though; I also wanted to document some history and anecdotes related to the tin toy boom, highlight some of the more well-known robots and companies that made them, and recommend books and other sites that share my enthusiasm of the craft.This project reignited my love and appreciation for the art form, and I learned so much more through the process of putting it together.
