Crater Lake

Finally made it to Crater Lake National Park – beautiful. 7700 years ago, Mount Mazama decided to blow its top, and left in its wake the deepest, bluest lake I’ve ever seen. That peak in the middle is the cinder cone caused by subsequent eruptions. Warning to acrophobes (present company included): depending upon which way you enter the park, the drive can be something right out of your vertigo nightmares. No guard rail on 2 lane roads where I can’t see what’s over the edge had me white knuckling it all the way up the hill. I’m better now šŸ™‚
